Authentic South Tyrolean cuisine. Lively inn culture. A breath of fresh air in traditional pots: this year, the Schnalstal Culinary Weeks are themed ‘eggs’ and are dedicated to vegetarian delicacies from the inner Alpine culinary arts.
28 June 2025 – Summer retreat in the Alpin Arena Schnals
Up, up, and away! Until 5 October, you can take the mountain railways up into the high mountains. And then run. Follow your nose, towards the sun and as far as your feet will carry you.
29 June 2025 – Sacred Heart Sunday in Unser Frau
Living history: at 10 a.m., the devout procession makes its way through Unser Frau. In the evening, the mountain fires light up. We Schnalstalers keep our promise from 1796. To this day. Thank God.
6 July 2025 - Forest festival in Katharinaberg
Village culture par excellence: the Katharinaberg brass band invites you to the forest festival. With music, conviviality and summer lightness.
12 July 2025 – 50 years of the Schnalstal Glacier Cableways
We are celebrating half a century of alpine pioneering work! Be there when the new valley station is blessed, take a look behind the scenes of the glacier cableways and look forward to a colourful programme.
20 July 2025 – ‘Art in the Charterhouse’ opens its doors
Contemporary art in a historic setting: the Charterhouse monastery is hosting the project ‘Karthaus 700 – Unteroberwasser’ by Simone Mair and Lisa Mazza from the BAU Institute until 31 August 2025.
27 July 2025 - St. Anne's Day in Karthaus
Karthaus celebrates its patron saint, St. Anne. The procession begins at 10 a.m., offering a wonderful insight into the soul of the village. Afterwards, there will be lively celebrations.
15 August 2025 - Assumption Day in Unser Frau
What a celebration: a church festival in a place of pilgrimage! The impressive festive procession starts at 9 a.m.
6 September 2025 - Slow Food and sheep
Three weeks dedicated to transhumance: when the animals return from the mountain pastures, we celebrate delicacies made from Schnalser sheep. Enjoyable and in the finest Slow Food tradition.
21 September 2025 – Church festival in Katharinaberg
The village celebrates its patron saint, St. Catherine! The procession begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by a village festival.
